Exciting News! We are thrilled to offer an incredible lineup of extracurricular opportunities for our Greenwood Gators in the 4th marking period! These clubs are designed to help our K-5 students explore new interests, develop important skills, and build friendships outside the classroom. Whether it's creativity, teamwork, leadership, or physical activity, there’s something for everyone!Mondays Advanced Cheerleading: 3rd - 5th Grade (team is already selected) Spread school spirit with pride! Coached by VCU and Virginia Tech cheerleading alumni, our cheerleaders perform at our pep rallies and award ceremonies. Bucket Drumline: 3rd - 5th Grade (team is already selected) Set the tone and make some noise with "G-Wood"! Perform at the Math Award ceremonies, school parades, and pep rallies! Advanced Drumline: 3rd - 5th Grade (team is already selected) Our Advanced Drumline creates an engaging school environment with performances at major school events! Set Design: 3rd - 5th Grade (team is already selected) In this exciting Morning Club, we’ll work together to transform the stage into a 90s-inspired rock-and-roll extravaganza. This group of talented artists will paint two sets, gather props, and prepare for the big show on May 2 at Holman Middle School.Keva Planks: 1st - 2nd Grade In this fun and hands-on club, we’ll work together to design amazing structures using KEVA planks—those cool wooden blocks that let your imagination run wild. Whether you’re building towers, bridges, or something totally unique, you'll have a blast collaborating with friends and testing your designs.Safety Patrols: 4th - 5th GradeIn this club, our 4th and 5th grade assist in Pre-K to first-grade classrooms each morning, helping younger Gators start their day with morning choice games, unpacking, and building positive relationships. Recycle Team We are excited to announce that there will be a Recycling Club starting in Q4! This club will have teams of students come around to each grade level (including Pre-K) to retrieve PAPER recycling from classrooms every Monday.Yearbook: 5th (team is already selected) Do you love taking pictures, designing cool pages, or capturing special moments? Join our Yearbook Crew! As a member of our team, you'll help create our school’s yearbook by taking photos, writing captions, and brainstorming ideas for fun and creative layouts. Whether you’re a budding photographer, artist, or writer, there’s a spot for you! We work together to make sure everyone’s favorite memories are part of our school’s yearbook. It’s a great way to get involved, learn new skills, and be part of something special that lasts forever!Soccer: K - 1st GradeDevelop your footwork, teamwork, and game strategy in this fast-paced club where students will practice skills, play matches, and have fun on the field! Open to all skill levels, this club is perfect for players looking to improve and enjoy the game.Fishing: 3rd - 5th Grade Cast your line and learn the basics of fishing, including knot tying, bait selection, and catch-and-release techniques. This club is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while building patience, focus, and an appreciation for nature.Flag Squad: 3rd - 5th Grade Show your school spirit by learning flag routines that combine rhythm, coordination, and teamwork! This club will prepare students to perform at special events and showcase their skills with energy and enthusiasm.Tuesday Volleyball: 3rd - 5th GradeBump, set, and spike your way to success in this fun and fast-paced club! Students will learn the fundamentals of volleyball, practice teamwork, and develop their skills through drills and friendly games.School Play: Rock the 90s: 1st - 5th Grade (team is already selected) Step into the spotlight with our 90s music-inspired school play, where you'll showcase your talents in singing, dancing, and acting, creating unforgettable memories on stage! This club does require students to tryout for their acting position!Boogle & Bananagrams: 2nd - 5th Grade Sharpen your vocabulary and word-building skills through the exciting games of Boggle & Bananagrams. Challenge your mind, race against the clock, and compete with friends in a battle of words!Math 24: 1st - 2nd Grade Put your math skills to the test in the Math 24 Club! This club is all about fun, fast-paced math challenges where you use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to make the number 24.Safety Patrols: 3rd Grade In this club, 3rd-grade students assist in Pre-K to first-grade classrooms each morning, helping younger Gators start their day with morning choice games, unpacking, and building positive relationships. Harry Potter Club: 4th and 5th Grade Students will share their love of the wizarding world through games, crafts, and science experiments! Flag Football: 2nd - 5th Grade Get ready to run plays, make great catches, and score touchdowns in this exciting, no-contact version of football! This club focuses on skill development, strategy, and teamwork in a fun and competitive environment.Skateboard and Roller Skating: 2nd - 5th Grade Whether you're rolling on four wheels or balancing on a board, this club is all about learning new skills and building confidence! Students will practice balance, coordination, and technique while having fun skating in a safe and supportive setting.Wednesday Dance: 1st - 5th Grade Start your day on the right foot with Dance Club! This high-energy club is perfect for students who love to move, groove, and express themselves through dance. Learn fun routines, explore different dance styles, and build confidence while staying active. Cosmetology Club: 3rd - 5th Grade Join the Cosmetology Club and explore the exciting world of beauty and self-care! This fun and creative club is all about learning the basics of hair styling, nail art, and makeup in a way that's age-appropriate and inspiring. Students will get hands-on experience with styling techniques, nail designs, and simple makeup ideas while also learning about self-expression, confidence, and creativity. Whether you're interested in trying new styles, practicing with friends, or just having fun with beauty, this club is the perfect place to shine! Tubanos: 3rd - 5th Grade Feel the rhythm and energy as you learn to play the tubano drums! This club will introduce students to drumming techniques, teamwork, and cultural rhythms while making music together in a fun and engaging way.Pokemon Club: 1st - 5th Grade Calling all Pokémon trainers! In this club, students will trade cards, battle in friendly matches, and discuss their favorite Pokémon while developing strategy, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.Learning English with Card and Boardgames: K - 2nd GradeImprove your English skills while having fun with exciting card and board games! This club is perfect for beginners and those looking to develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.Jump Rope: 2nd - 5th Grade In our Jump Rope Club, we start with single rope jumping to master various techniques, then progress to the exciting Double Dutch, learning both turning and jumping with two ropes. We also enjoy performing traditional jump rope chants and songs to keep the rhythm and add fun to our sessions. ThursdayStep Team: 3rd - 5th Grade (team is already selected) Our Step Team brings the rhythm to life with powerful moves and synchronized beats! This club is perfect for students who love teamwork, precision, and expressing themselves through dynamic routines. Step up, stand out, and make some noise with us! Gamers Advanced Dance: 3rd - 5th Grade (team is already selected) The top 20 dancers continue to elevate their dance skills with our Elite Dance Team! Individual lessons and Boot Camps are provided from Eleanor Robertson at Rigby’s Jig Ballroom Dance Studio, offering a premier enrichment opportunity. Bluey Club: K - 5th Grade Do you love Bluey, Chilli, Bingo and Lucky?! In this club we will talk about our favorite episodes, the funny characters and we will work on a few fun Bluey-themed activities!Safety Patrols: 3rd Grade In this club, 3rd-grade students assist in Pre-K to first-grade classrooms each morning, helping younger Gators start their day with morning choice games, unpacking, and building positive relationships. Color and Chat: 1st - 2nd GradeRelax, unwind, and get creative in this stress-free club where students can color and chat with friends! This is the perfect space to express yourself through art while building friendships in a calm and welcoming environment.Field Hockey: 3rd - 5th Grade Learn the fundamentals of field hockey while building teamwork and endurance. Players will develop dribbling, passing, and shooting skills through fun drills and games.Track Team: K - 5th Grade Improve speed, agility, and endurance while training for sprints, distance running, and relays. Athletes will build confidence and strength through dynamic workouts and friendly competition.Pickleball: 2nd - 5th Grade Discover the fast-paced and exciting game of pickleball, a mix of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. Players will practice skills like serving, volleying, and strategy in a fun and supportive environment.Friday Spirit Captains: 4th - 5th Grade (team is already selected) Lead the charge in building school spirit by organizing events, creating chants, and energizing the crowd at school functions. Captains will work together to spread positivity and pride throughout the school community.Head of House: 4th - 5th Grade (team is already selected) Develop leadership skills by guiding and inspiring your house through teamwork, mentorship, and school-wide initiatives. Members will help plan house events, support younger students, and strengthen the house system.Sports Debate: First Take: 3rd - 5th GradeStep into the role of a sports analyst and debate the hottest topics in professional and college sports.
